The title of the video says "how to transfer a domain name to Azure". It is technically misleading. You did not transfer the domain name - it still resides with your registrar NameCheap. All you did was point your registrar to the Azure DNS servers. So the title of the video should be "How to use a Azure Public DNS Service with your Domain"... Please think about it and feel free to correct if i am wrong.

Misleading title. This is not the transfer of a domain name to Azure, this is the redirection - or routing - of a domain name managed somewhere else else to a DNS hosted in Azure.

Great tutorial, very clear. But my Azure dashboard differs from yours. It’s now 4 years later in 2021. I don't see the “virtual machine” box, “Overview, ” the Public IP Address, or any of the links you show. The only thing close is the Settings > General link on the left, which shows my temporary domain grayed out. A Plugins search for DNS Zone or only DNS shows multiple results that don’t seem to apply. Downloading the Classic Editor plugin doesn’t seem to show anything different. How do I access the Public IP Address and transfer a domain to WordPress with the updated dashboard? Don’t see this discussed on the Community Forum.

Q: Do you know what happens to email? Does Azure have an email service or do we need to split some of the DNS settings to Azure and email elsewhere?
Once I switch my website to Azure I do not want to be paying my old hosting provider as well.

because if i host my website to namecheap web hoster, they can also propose to me Data + DNS formula.

So if you did not the last part would your domain be automaticly forwarded with www and without? Is it just to show up www? For example you did not do it and i go www.1pagezen.com would i be able to reach it?
