I prefer the original when it's brand new, I've heard that the precision and deadzone of it is unmatched. They are hard to get tho.

Original controllers all the way for me. As you demonstrated, you can always replace a worn stick with a gamecube style stick, but aftermarket controllers usually feel cheaper and flimsier to hold.

The yellow and grey controller looks amazing, reminds me of the Nike football goalkeeper kits of 2002/2003.

There’a also the Hori Mini and the reproduction made by Retro-Bit.

I just replaced all of my sticks with the Gamecube ones. It’s cheaper, and games don’t use the D-pad enough for the one on the clone to really be a selling point anyway.

Cool video ! i own a aftermarket controler copy of the original just like our but green. I didn't know that other shape of controlers existed for n64 kinda want one know x). Keep the great content, really cool channel and always fun to watch ! Sry for my bad english.

I didn't know there were new replacement joysticks for old controllers. I'll have to find source in the US. Restoring the original N64 my bro had since he was a child might make a nice Christmas gift along with the Brawler64 controller.

I prefer the original. No aftermarket controller produced so far has been perfect when it comes to the analog stick. Sensitivity and deadzone issues make games like Goldeneye and Perfect Dark noticably harder to play unfortunately.

I've always loved the original N64 controller, even though you need to do some maintenance on the control stick once in a while :)

I prefer the old classic one, it's the one I grew up with and has better sensitivity/precision

Aftermarket controller after using one for the first time a while back. I always find the N64 controller a two edged sword (excellent for some games and poor for others). Thanks for the tips.

I prefer the original, especially if it comes with a refurbish original analog stick. But I heard that the brawler is the best alternative.

I like the original one and the GameCube controller. Never had them combined in a N64 controller. So I probably prefer the N64 with GameCube stick. Combined best from both worlds I guess..

I would prefer the after market one: the GC thumbstick is a quite convenient upgrade. Great video btw!!

I bought 2 of the brawler64 controllers expecting to like them more that the original. Nope. Felt weird to play N64 games using that controller. I'll stick with the original. I have plenty of spare controllers in perfect condition.

normally i would say original hardware all the way, but since the stick of the N64 was so bad, and the gamecube style stick fixes a lot, i would say after market in this case.
