Turquoise is such a fascinating gem! Would you like to see more? Let us know! And let us know what would you like to see - carvings, jewelry, mineral specimens, imitators?

Could you make a video about spotting faulty gems in the market? Things like opalite, resin malachite, dyed howlite, sodalite impersonating lapis and so on. Even heat treated amethyst. There is a lot of misinformation about rocks and sometimes it can be hard to spot differences in what’s synthetic and what’s real!

Being an Arizona native I would grow up seeing Turquoise everywhere. Love the stones you brought! They were huge! I love the jewelry that can be made of turquoise

This was wonderful. My late husband was a Comanche. Award Winning Native American Sculptor and Painter. We showed and sold his work all over the Southwest. We spent enough time there to learn a little about turquoise and this was fascinating! More please!! My husband was Gordon W. Tonips. Thank you for this episode.

Throughout my childhood a day trip to Santa Fe wasn't complete until we undertook an expedition to peruse the turquoise jewelry displayed under the portale of the Governor's Palace on the plaza.

Great episode. I would love to see an episode that focuses on identifying true turquoise versus imitators such as dyed howlite. It would also be interesting to learn more about identifying untreated versus stabilised turquoise.

I love turquoise because it varies so much. Its color and its density in the matrix is so varied. The Sleeping Beauty is such a beautiful color. And its stabilized so it wont change its color. Its fabulous and it was made super popular by the native americans use of it in all their art, jewelry, and beliefs. Cool episode and a episode the deep dives into turquoise would be awesome!

Love the episode, especially that I'm from Egypt where Turquoise has been very popular for thousands of years back to ancient Egyptians, Sinai, Egypt has been widely known for some of the best turquoise in the world. We even call it 'Ard El Fairuz' (land of turquoise). Waiting for many astonishing episodes of yours.

First time viewer here and I love this format. Gemologist vs Geologist. I make jewelry out of stones as a hobby and I have always wondered about the perfect scenarios that had to occur to create all the beautiful stones I work with. I learned so much about turquoise today. I’m definitely going to look up more of these videos now.😇❤️

This was a really interesting video and as a GIA gemology student I would love to see a follow up video about the different treatments and simulants.
