It's doubtable that the treaty would have saves that many thousands. It still took several months to get these messages back to the US, and in that few months, there likely wasn't that much violence. Not to say that it couldn't have ended up like the War of 1812 where several battles were fought after the treaty, but before they were delivered. There may have been further reasoning, such as an admission of recognition beyond paper, so England couldn't later on decide that only the document granted US independence.
