US election: Biden says transition 'well underway' despite Trump's refusal to concede

U.S. president-elect Joe Biden commented on President Donald Trump's refusal to concede the election on Tuesday, saying it's "not of much consequence in our planning in what we're able to do." Biden added that his transition is "well underway" and that "nothing's going to stop that."

Earlier on Tuesday, United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the federal government was committed to "a smooth transition [of power] to a second Trump administration."

U.S. President Donald Trump has not conceded the election and is instead claiming without evidence that there has been a widespread, multi-state conspiracy by Democrats to skew the vote tally in his opponent's favour.
