As someone whose family fought the Germans in two world wars: 1.The way they were treated after the first war made the second one pretty much inevitable. 2. These are very, very different Germans. They give a buttload to Africa and developing nations everywhere. They are the voice of sanity. They treat their citizens well. Their education system is excellent. Be calm. This is good news. Even the French and Poles like this idea.

Germany joining in weapon shipments, increasing its military budget is a huge huge gamechanger for the EU and not to mention germany. Ever simce ww2 germany much like japan has been tip toeing on any subject regarding power projection, weapons and military intervention. An era has come to an end and it is quite obvious they have cast off the shadow of the past and decided to join in more pro actively with other western nations. Im german and cannot stress how big a change this is in german politics.
