The right side, it perfectly gives off the Dior look!

They both look like Dior. The only differences are the color, the heels, and the necklines.

You are absolutely right about not needing exact clothing matches from an era to dress like that era. Especially since trends repeat themselves. I work as a tour guide at a Victorian museum and I use my grandma’s clothes from the 70s since a lot of 70s trends draw inspo from Victorian trends.

The fits on the modern side were more flattering.

Everyone with an hourglass loves older styles because they actually fit us 😂

Left side. For the win. But you look fabulous in both like always.

I'm into 70s and 60s vintage and its actually quite easy to find modern pieces that fit the aesthetic, especially maxi and midi dresses. Plus turtle necks are turtle necks no matter when they were made.

I grew up loving vintage. My Mom could always find classic pieces that fit me like a glove — how was she able to do that!? ❤
I know the left is the vintage but the right side looks much more fitting!

I love the all modern, but it's mostly because green is my favorite colour

I think the fabric quality and tailoring of the jacket are so much nicer on the left, but they both look really nice!

I love the petticoat dress! I would wear that alone as well!!

both the outfits look beautiful! But New Look of the time required shapewear to achieve the proper silhouette (bullet bra + girdle + slip for smoothness). postwar period shows often have the same issue, the clothes are gorgeous but the lines are just off

Thank you so much for all the work you’ve done for us. We love you and everyone at Team Theorist for doing so much to put out quality content that we could all enjoy during our highs or lows, and everything in between. Thank you.

It's true. For the last 7 years I've been inspired by the real fashion of the 80's. I only have 3 jackets from the 80's. The rest of my clothes (jackets, t-shirts, shirts, trousers) and shoes are contemporary, but I create the style in such a way that it looks like the 80's. Really a lot of clothes from that time are still fashionable, after all the 80's started over 40 years ago, not 400 years ago, so there's not such a big gap between our clothes and those.

For fans of 80s fashion, I recommend - if you want to make a simple blouse (even a t-shirt), jumper, jacket, coat or blazer look like it's from the 80s - sew on shoulder pads.

I'm a guy, and for fashion fans of the past, I recommend not paying attention to the "gender" of the clothes in the shop. I'm not a cross-dresser, but half of my wardrobe is women's clothing because a lot of it looks like men's clothes from a few decades ago.

For example, for many years I dreamt of beautiful walnut-brown high-waisted suit trousers like the ones worn by men at the time, especially the New Romantic ones. I only found them in the women's department and bought them in 2020 for €20. They look good on me and I don't look like a cross-dresser in them.

It's just that men's fashion has become very poor in our time, it's no longer as intriguing, colourful, creative and attractive. Everything is grey in the men's department. In contrast, men's fashion of the 60s, 70s and 80s was an era of colour. Today we can find colours in the women's department. Guys, don't be afraid to look in the women's department - clothes have no gender. What was once worn by men is today unfairly attributed solely to women's fashion.

I think something else that’s really important when dressing vintage is making sure you’re wearing the right undergarments. Modern bras don’t fill the shape of dresses from the 40s, as women then were wearing the cone style of bra. So undergarments are very important

All modern - the blazer just fits sooo much nicer!
