Very nice! I love painting nebulae, and I have found that you can easily add a lot of depth and richness (and realism!) by using a thin glaze or two. If the highlights get knocked back too much, just subtly add a bit more white to the strongest highlights.

I am having a painting and Trekkie vibes. I hadn’t watch Star Trek: First Contact and haven’t paint in years. I should go back to it! :D

This is super helpful! I see what you mean y "over blending! My first attempt was looking really good, and then I went just several dozen dabs too much and the colors no longerstamd apart, but have blended into a new color and look flat. Thanks for the tips, I'm going to keep trying!

thanks for this! funnily enough i was looking for a way to paint this on my Miniatures. but basically everyone goes: its easy. you take your airbrush. NOPE i dont have that option. so i found this. and just.. tried it on a base. and it works! thank you very much!

I'm not sure if you will get to read this but I love your videos. I grew up watching Bob Ross and he inspired me to paint and all of your videos have helped me become better. Thank you so much. I would like to try this one but wanted to ask if you might have a tutorial of this but with oil paint? It's all I have. I covered the back in a permanent black liquid acrylic paint and allowed it to dry.

This looks like a lot of fun! I've tried painting space scenes in photoshop, but I want to see what kind of results I get from physical media. I love the energy you put into the video!

This is a really nice painting you did, mine did not turn out anything like this as it "got away from me", but it was one of those "happy accidents so I'm going to try this again. 🥰 And I'm now a subscriber.

Ryan @3:47 you state to take a mixture of water and paint. If I am doing this with oil am I adding liquid white to the titanium white, or am I taking an acrylic white and mixing water to add my stars? Or are both methods acceptable? Any tutorial vids on how to achieve this effect?
