Is she being unnecessarily mean and rude? Hell yeah. But if we are going to be honest, her tone doesn’t sound so different from the one that seems to be prevalent on the internet today. The difference is that she is a famous person who doesn’t hide her face behind a anonymous profile to be a troll on the internet.

However, its so funny to me that people are complaining that Doja is not feeding into that parasocial relationship and not feeling like she needs to bc somehow she “owes them her career”, SPECIALLY when in the last month people were literally discussing how youtubers like colleen ballinger used to take advantage of these parasocial relationships to exploit fans who thought she really did love them. That proximity doja is denying is literally what some celebrities use to their own benefit to promote themselves (and maybe she did use it a bit in the beggining, idk bc I never followed her closely) and that can end up backfiring when the fans realize that it was never the case.
So yeah, although I might not agree with the way she is conveying her message, I 100% agree with the message.
