Mushroom Ventilation - How to Build a CO2 Controller for Mushroom Growing - Part 1

The CO2 controller I made for my mushroom fruiting chamber. I can set how much PPM I want as a maximum in the room. Once that PPM target is hit it turns on an extractor fan and starts venting the air outside and letting fresh air in. The Omron works great, and really does a good job at keeping the CO2 down.

Id love to show you my two barrel PID controller I made. I wonder if you were to flip that water proof fan around if that would help your readings. CO2 is heavier so it sits at the bottom of the grow room. With that fan flipped around it would be sucking in air from the bottom of the grow room where most of the CO2 would be.

Why don't you keep the sensor straight into the room but have to go through a small fan?

hey mate, love your videos. currently building my own grow space for oyster mushrooms, im setting it up inside one of my spare rooms in a 2x2 grow tent, being inside i want to maintain a negative pressure inside my tent the whole time, whilst engaging my main exhaust fan with a c02 monitor, do you have any reccomendations for a very small cfm fan that will create just enough negative pressure in my grow space? thanks!!

There are some CO2 transmitters with control output built in. That could reduce the system components a bit maybe. And there are ones with a pipe fitting, to be connected to a ventilation pipe directly.

Bro you do realise that co2 is heavier than air, right? Your censor pipe is drawing from high in the room, so it won't read high until the room is almost full of co2. You should run the fan in the other direction and pull your reading from near the bottom of the room... 😉

Why did you choose to build your own over an Inkbird CO2 controller? I've looked into setting up like yours but the components are gunna cost me as much as an Inkbird plus my time. Just wondering why you went that way rather than purchasing a "plug n play" type deal. Because you hate Inkbird? xD
