Crazy how this is 13b years in the past and you can still see little specks of light on the background of even more galaxies, insane how big our universe truly is

If only we were as Socially advanced as we are technologically.

Whose idea was it to *never show the image fullscreen* when that's literally all we're here for, and then abruptly cut the presentation short awkwardly after a 1.5 hour wait? This was a historically bad press conference to match the historic image.

OK... so for 6.5 mins a non-scientist and the vice non-scientist spoke, then the picture was shown for two mins on a screen in the back of the room. The information given by the science guy was basically a voice over that didn't address anything in the picture, then we were set free to be amazed. Maybe, just maybe, you get some of the excited team members of NASA and the agencies that built and launched this amazing device and let them point out and circle and explain the image to the uninitiated. Hearing VP drone on and thank people, then Joe drone on and explain science, well that was for history... this was a letdown as far as "announcements to the world". I am truly in awe of the telescope and its abilities/potentials and hope the images gather mind boggling data and surprises, but if I sit through another photo op like this I will lose interest.

To think some of those galaxies may no longer exist and civilizations may have risen and fallen. We can never truly appreciate the vastness of our universe.

I read in the Weekly World News that one of the long range telescopes captured an image of an alien in boxer shorts . Scientists believe that image alone proved aliens prefer boxers over briefs .

It’s nice to have some good news. This shot is looking back 13 billion light years into the past. We can look forward to shots that can look back even further. Exciting!!

Why is the camera only on Joe? Waiting to see if he falls asleep?

The two of them should now demonstrate their commitment to the exploration of space by volunteering to be the first Americans to visit Mars.

This is just mind-blowing, we've come so far with technology I can't wait to see where will go in the days ahead!

Amazing. Good to see the Pres and Vice fully supporting space exploration. This is indeed a very historic moment. View from the telescope on a space vehicle launched six months ago. Looking forward to more. Triumph for the USA and their partners!
