Former WGN-TV icon Merri Dee dies at 85

WGN-TV is saddened following the death of our former broadcaster and community relations director Merri Dee.

I grew up watching these journalist: Merri Dee, Lester Holt, Tamron Hall, Bill Curtis, and the late Allison Payne; God rest her soul. And I can say that ALL of them have aged GRACEFULLY! My mom really loved when Merri Dee was on the evening Lottery broadcast my mom would always say thats my Girl Love Merri And any chance she got to catch her on tv she would always watch and say Thats My Girl Merri she Made me Love Merri Dee TOO! Rest in Power
