Clouds of gas rise into the sky from the Taal Volcano located in the Philippines.
Over the space of 48 hours in late January 2022 the Taal Volcano released an incredible 19000 tones of SO2.
The Taal lake continues to boil and steam with multiple small earthquakes being recorded around the volcanic area.
The activity is reported as normal and is a part of the de-gasing process.
The Taal Volcano is currently at alert level 2 so a gas explosion or eruption could occur at any time and all visitors to the volcanic island are prohibited.
