Reaching Students Where They Are: School Based Prevention

This one-hour webinar will focus on how we can work effectively with schools to help all students and families prevent and reduce youth opioid and other substance use. We will begin by describing key risk and protective factors associated with youth substance use. Using the three-tiered approach to intervention found in educational settings, we will learn about specific evidence-based and promising prevention strategies for each tier. We will also discuss how school policies can help to sustain our prevention strategies. Finally, we will deepen our understanding of school culture to enhance our ability to successfully implement prevention programs in schools.
