The "rights" of an individual just obliterated the rights of 21 others. The GOP says they are for individual rights? How about the right to live?!

"I'm not making it political. It is political because you refuse to do anything about these guns!" Should be the only response to an accusation of "You're making this political."

The following question NEEDS to be asked publicly of every politician who will not vote for gun reform laws, "A 10 year old survivor of the Uvalde shooting says that he doesn't want to go back to school because he not only believes it could happen again, but that he KNOWS it might happen again. That's terror! Instilled at the most tender age. How are locked doors and more armed guards supposed to quell that terror!?"

The IC made a mistake?
He made an assumption?
He sounds incompetent.

-_> When taught gun handling: always assume it is loaded (even if you ‘know’ you emptied it)

-> When at a school, NEVER assume there are no kids there.
AND THERE WERE 911 CALLS FROM THE KIDS!!!

NOW IS THE TIME TO BE POLITICAL!

This was a very well balanced and nuanced interview.
1. The police communication system is from the 70s
2. Command structure reformation
3. Gun law legislation requirements

All logically laid out apolitically.
I wish we had more such reports to educate the public, including on FoxNews!

The US system is failing its people and children as it's today!

Every gun should be registered to a certified owner.

You should demand interviews with the officers who took part in this. The question of who's responsible is kind of irrelevant. We know who's responsible. The officers who did not engage with the shooter immediately as they have been instructed to do in situations like this.

In any country the head of this mess would resign immediately. What are you waiting for G. Abbot to take responsibility and leave office?

Crime is a favorite topic of many politicians. Crime is a problem that government gets involved in. The government is run by politicians. Crime is a political issue. Little children being executed in their classroom is a political issue. Politicians exist to answer political questions. That's their job.

They put more effort into keeping the parents out instead of getting the shooter out

It's either political or a botched op and cover up.

I have experienced that "fog of war" to which the Boston police chief refers. However, these occasions were in combat, conflict zones in collapsed states such as Afghanistan, Somalia, and Bosnia. It is horrible that we can even invisage such situations in schools in the USA. Is the US becoming a failed experiment?

According to the pigs with a badge: They want to go home...so did those 19 children. Some of those so called brave men stood outside in the hall so of course there was nothing to impede them hearing the shots still going off. Brave men my behind. Fathers volunteering to go inside, arresting a mother who was finally released is the one who saved her children. Then the lying what can one say about all of the lies. Why wasn't the resource officer there? What's haunting to me is all of the calls that kept coming in from the children.
