MusicWorks - Grade 2
Characteristic of Richard's distinctive style, this impressive piece features a rhythmic vitality throughout, along with fresh harmonies and skilled orchestrational devices. Amid the powerful fanfare-like phrases, Richard creates a brief calm section using the woodwinds and a unique layering effect before building to the dynamic ending. Great sounds for young players – all in one tempo throughout!

Dont mind me, just jumping in between chimes, bells, and vibes. Dont mind me running around in the back. Also dont mind the other mallet percussionist who stays on marimba

When I played this song my 7th grade year of middle school during All County, I was 9th chair trombone. I was so nervous that I completely bombed my audition. In 1 year, I jumped up to 3rd chair. Then all of high school my band director made me sign up for All county and All State, but I let my nervousness get the best of me and I couldn’t audition, I couldn’t even drive myself to the auditions. He, then later on she (we got a new band director my senior year) told me that with out a doubt, I would have made at the least 5th chair. Which that made me feel better, but I just couldn’t do it. I was first chair trombone my senior year, but I always asked for second part because that’s what I was most comfortable playing with.

I love how for like 20 measures the flutes and saxes has that repeated 8th note thing as the brass crescendos to make it more serious

Can a tenor sax player be lead saxophone in a jazz ensemble? In my jazz ensemble, there are 3 saxes (4 pretty soon), and I've been in there the longest and have better skills than the rest of the saxophones (even though I only have been playing sax for 2 full years). And by the way, there are 2 tenors and an alto in my group (a bari sax pretty soon). Do you think a tenor sax can be lead sax?
