Why make a separate calendar app when Notion already has a (admittedly basic) calendar function? Why not just make the integrated calendar function better?

They didn’t make it, they bought it and renamed it. Previously it was called chron

Correction: they didn't build it they acquired CRON. And they also acquired another suite of services that includes another calendar app, email service, and more.

What you just said about tasks is already possible in a few apps. It's an extremely basic syncing between to do apps and calendars.

I don’t get why years after the display there are almost no equivalent 5K monitors pushed out for the Mac crowd. Like seriously, especially for monitor centric companies. It’s like free market share left on the table.

Notion can read and do read your notes and data, use Anytype it's better than obsidian even!

Don't use notion just use the notes app or Microsoft word or Google Docs or if they are really important write them down. Its proven your may more likely to remember something you wrote down.
