Actually the president wanted to get his tax refund and tax refunds for wall street from the barren offices of the IRS, wanted farmers to get their insurance money once the prices are posted for 2019 by market analysts (handshake on tv cameras), to do his state of the union address in the House like presidents past and state his goals.
President loves looking at himself and directing his subordinates like so many ants fearful of him.

Not a presidential concern but a side benefit is that the airports will not need to be closed due to lack of TSA agents showing up. Air Traffic Controllers can get paid again for keeping planes from crashing in US Air space. Prison guards can afford gas to perform penitentiary duties. Grocery stores that have lost access to process SNAP payments can apply and provide food to the hungry. National Parks staff can now assess how bad they are from neglect. And maybe get the food inspectors are ensuring that e coli and salmonella under control. Water sources remain safe for citizens.
And numerous other concerns for the American citizens under siege.

The reason for the wall is not purely for security. He needs to find a market for US steel and aluminum as he put tariffs on foreign supply to protect a national commodity and remove competition. He needs a market for Russian steel and possibly Russian asbestos. With business deals with the president, the expectation is that the president follows through.

So why doesn't the cbc report on matters that are important to Canadians. We are in an election year. This has no impact on us, or is it easier to gaslight issues to the hated Trump instead of scrutinizing the leaders here at home who are failing us?
At least other msm do not endorse censorship by disabling comments from viewers.

I think if there's a Government Shutdown ( as they CALL IT) NOBODY should get a pay check, INCLUDING the politicians who's SOLELY responsible for the financial suffering of working Americans with NO FAULT of their own. Incuding ALL Government workers in THIS way will serve to prove the REAL fairness for all parties involved.

I feel sorry for the people who were out of work...but it really makes you think about society really..alot of people that work always harp on the lower class that depends on government assistance ...well what about these workers???? they have jobs ..good paying jobs..and I seen after 3 weeks of the shutdown they were at the senator's office demanding pay because they can't can't afford food and they are gonna be evicted from their home..after 3 weeks of pay!!!!..so I'd say the gov workers are dependent on the gov as well..no different than the lower class..in my opinion most of the people are economic slaves..I always have saved enough for at least 6 months of no income coming in because you never know..and my job that had only payed me for half the year because I only worked half the year..it's sad to see that hard working tax payers can't go without 1 paycheck and losing everything they have worked for based off missing a months pay that's true economical slavery at it's best
