I starting working when I was 14 as a busboy at a small town American-Mexican restaurant 8 hours a week Friday and Saturday nights. My employer God bless them sat me down and explained my pay check! They showed me Fed. and state and SSi paid on my check. That was 1971. I retired April 2 2023. I was laid off three times from manufacturing jobs, so I went int the water field. I was 33. I was never with out a job in this field. I'm not at all wealthy but I have a home paid for. But not much else. I try to be healthy as I can. So being 67 I looking to go back to work because I can't afford to live on my ssi and Taxes and Insurance. Life is not all a bed of roses after retirement.
