The Best Quiet Impact Driver? DeWalt DCF870 Quiet Hydraulic Impact Driver Review

DeWalt may have just released the best quiet impact driver on the market that no one is talking about. The launch of their DCF870 Quiet Hydraulic impact comes on the heels of their new DCF860 launch (which we will also soon be doing a video on) but doesn't aim to replace their flagship impact driver, but instead be a whole lot quieter.

The hydraulic mechanisms inside the tool makes this one of the best quiet impact drivers on the market, while maintaining a compact package, but is it worth the hype? In this video, we compare the DCF870 to the compact DCF845 to see just how much quieter it really is.

I like the dual bench vice setup and the bazillions of different drivers in the background. Too bad you don’t have a few extra bits so you don’t have to keep moving the Phillips and T27 bits back and forth.

I appreciate the comparison with the 850, but throwing the M18 surge in there would have been a really good comparison too.

Oh yeah I could hear the difference, very nice. My neighbor’s would appreciate it especially when working late 😅

The best impact driver on the market. I know many people have a hard-on for more power but it’s really getting out of hand. Try putting a 1/4” adapter on a mid torque impact wrench and see how much fun it is driving fasteners with the kind of power people keep demanding.

Thanks for this review. I have one coming in the mail. Build alot of showers and noise means alot more to me than power any more

will we be happy once they figure out how to place a flat screen tv on the backside of the tools too?

As good as this may be on this dcf870, i feel like they have gone back in time with the control slider. Why bring the new dcf860 out before it and then bring this out ?. Then they have continued the x2 speed slider when the dcf860 has the soft button option (Thank god they got rid of that troublesome slider option on this model). to me it just doe's not make sense ?.

I’d like to see a comparison with a Milwaukee Surge. But either one is not for me though. Thanks for making the interesting videp

If I was doing this demonstration and I had it available I would have pitted the DCF870 to the Milwaukee Surge.

That's really quite compare to traditional impact drivers. A little too quite for my taste though.😅

I don't have to pull out the bit holder collar to put in the bit on my dewalt

Yea sure "drywall screws is what most people use these for"😂😂 that'd what drywall guns are for these things people use for timber screws

Why you pull triger to half on dcf870.? To make less noise? Using Dcf850 you pulled triger all the way. I hate that fake compare.

HYDRAULIC in position 2 and ATOMIK in position 3 ... NOT FAIR comparison

Thank the lord, so fed up with the carps impact driving all day with no thought of anybody els.
I told them to go by Milwaukee Surge, but they are addicted to dewalt, perhaps now the rest of the crews can work in peace
