As not a massive DC fan I was very surprised at how much better the snyder cut was over the terrible never want to watch again joss whedon version. A part 2 that delivered would have put DC back on top, and been the perfect time to fill the gap in the market marvel left after endgame when their quality dropped off.

Resetting isn't the issue... It's making movies that are not full on hits, leaving then no choice but to reboot because there aren't enough of an audience liking what we got. They keep making mistakes and not really listening to what works, all of them, including Snyder. Superman is just too dark, darker than the dark knight himself, then Superman falling to the anti life equation? Going even darker when he just got out of the funk? Would've been a big mistake.

Yup and now we get an actual good look Superman movie and real DC movieverse. Everyone I know is going to see the new Superman, even people I know who aren't big Superman fans think it looks good and are excited to see it. Gonna be epic! It'll make probably around a billion.

It’s not because they keep “hitting the reset button”. It’s because they are box office flops with horrible writing and decision making. Instead of building a universe and treating each character with respect, they tried to emulate the MCU’s success at the time by shoehorning crap after crap after crap into the theaters.

Honestly, I don’t see why they couldn’t do crossovers between the universes. They could build David Cornwell’s Superman as the good, heroic version and make his universe the ideal DC world. Later on, they could introduce a storyline like "Injustice, " where it collides with the darker universe. This would respect both fanbases since we already know Henry Cavill’s Superman goes bad at some point. It would be a great way to combine the stories.

As a DC fan this is grip with them, yes I'm a Snyder fan but that's not why I refuse to see the new DC. It's because right when you get invested they cancel crap and reboot it. Marvel on the other hand even when something is a flop and they recast the still find a way to work the previous stuff in so I feel like even when I see a reboot I know there is some kind of tie into the old. Now if DC can actually get 3 films or more into without cancelling then maybe I'll check it out then..

That 1st JL cast was never meant to become a movie. It was a screen test for a movie they didn't plan on making
