EMPTY SHELVES AT EVERY STORE!?!? Best Buy 4K Sales! Blu-ray Hunting Trip!

The month of June isn't off to a great start when it comes to blu-ray hunting! Every store I went to was missing new releases! Are Best Buy and I ending our relationship? What's the point of going to Target anymore? These questions are answered in this week's blu-ray hunting trip!

As a massive movie fan, I love physical media and believe in keeping it alive! Every Tuesday I go blu-ray/steelbook hunting at Best Buy, Target, Walmart or Barnes & Noble to see what new release blu-rays or classic films I can find!

Yeah Sue, I’m in San Diego and I went to a Target and it was the same here, nothing but empty shelves.

This is already the new normal here in San Diego. Basically if you want a new release on release day, you have to get it from Amazon. A Walmart actually told me they don’t even put anything out on Tuesday anymore and they put it out later in the week, and all other stores out here basically follow suit. I wish it wasn’t like this but it is. And I hate it!

My nearest Walmart finally put up The Batman today. Since release day, the only thing they had put up was The Batman banner. I stopped going to Target, pretty sure the last time I was there, I saw a tumbleweed rolling by the blu ray section.

I remember the heavenly kid also! I probably saw it on hbo in the mid to late 80s. I recently watched it maybe a year or so ago on prime.

It's always weird seeing Target with no New Releases out because I worked at Target like 7 years back and I was responsible for getting the movies/books/music shelves updated on Mondays and getting the New Releases on the shelves before we opened on Tuedsays(Movies/Books) and Fridays(Music). The media sections seem to be neglected nowadays.

My only stop today was Best Buy. I grabbed Full Metal Jacket since it was on sale (got caught swapping copies because the only copy with a slip had a loose disc). I also grabbed the Lawrence of Arabia and River Kwai steelbooks. I told myself I was only going to grab one but River Kwai was a decent price (27.99) and my local Best Buy sold out of Heavy Metal real quick so I decided to grab both

Went to my local Best Buy and as usual, they had nothing, not a single new release on display. Sue, a new release like that needs to be out on the shelf. Not in the back room where you have to ask for it. Next thing you know, you'll need a code or PIN to get a new release. I ended up at the Best Buy 7 miles away and they The Northman, which I picked up along with the 4K steelbook of Jungle Cruise.

Its interesting to see that stores no longer have new releases on release day. Thats very odd.

My Best Buy had many steel books, Lawrence of Arabia, the Bridge on the river Kwai, and the Bourne complete collection, I only picked up the Northman 4K slip, only 3 copies in store!, the steel books were tempting, high prices, I had to retreat
