I really like this video. Many years ago, about 40, I seeded a new lawn. I went crazy with grass seed. used a rake, and raked it in, covered it with straw. A few months later and to this day, that lawn is the best looking one in the town I used to work in. Overseed it? Hell ya. Also, I learned a trick for stubborn spots. Take a shovel, dig in about 2 inches. Move the spade up a bit. Do this in lines. Add in grass seed. It will grow.

Lawn care with a side of sarcasm and a bit of hidden-humor for the grown folk. I really dig it! You’re hysterical 😂

I live in oregon and I've always wanted to figure out how people do this. I've always wanted a nice yard for looks but also for my kids so that they don't step on poky weeds. I tried your method and then it literally snowed and froze here out of the blue for a week. I thought for sure the new seed died. But it didn't! It's growing and it's filling in around everything! Thank you so much.

I’m aware the Pros recommend reseeding in the fall however I live in Canada with harsh winters that create a
Lot of die off and bald spots. If you don’t at least repair the lawn by reseeding the weeds tend to fill in. My aim is to have a thick turf to choke out the weeds. Preventative maintenance goes a long way. I’ve done this for years and not to sound like I’m bragging but I do have the nicest lawn in my neighborhood.😊

I don’t do nearly as much & I always have great success… make sure to start with ideal temps, arrogate soil, throw seeds w starter food & water consistently 7-10 days. Boom new grass! Otherwise, super helpful content thank you.

I’ve been looking up some different videos about planting grass but I think this one was most informative. I’ve used a mixture bag of sun and shade because different times of the day with trees, it’ll just have both. I put it down and put hay on it and watered it, I’ll keep it watered and see what happens. If it doesn’t work I’ll try again in the fall

I'm going to attempt to seed hopefully today. It's high traffic area, my dog mainly but I'm so sick of just dirt he comes in with mud everywhere and on top of that it's shaded.

Justin - Thanks for the tips. I plan on trying to tackle my lawn this year and unfortunately in the spring. Are all of these products pet safe and if not, how soon would I allow my dog to be in the yard after putting everything down?

Not being critical, but lot of videos will say as you did 1/2 tsp. per 1000 sq. ft. but for people who are new to lawn care and trying to learn that gets confusing, to me at least, because it doesn't tell us how much water to put with the 1/2 tsp. like 1/2 tsp. per gal water or what.
