HOW TO GROW GRASS

Planting and growing grass is simple. You need: soil, seed, water, nutrients.

You should already have the soil and I can help you with the rest.

-Loosen up the top layer of soil with aeration or power raking (dethatching) or if you have small spots use a cultivator.

-Spread your grass seed evenly, not too heavy, but not too light.

-Cover with a light layer of soil, compost, or peat moss.

-Add nutrients, something with phosphorous in it to help the roots

-Water, water, water. The most important step. Water 2-3 times a day for 5 minutes or so each time. Water until the seed/soil is moist but isn't soaking wet and puddling up.

-Continue watering until you get a few mows on the new grass. Then cut back the frequency of watering but increase the amount of water each time.

Always liked using Milorganite when I did my fall overseeding. Seemed to really get it up and going faster so I could put down my barricade w/fert asap.
