Hello Raymond, I have the M2 Max Studio with the 512 GB SSD, unfortunately it is only half as fast in read and write speed. Typical Apple.

Raymond, what’s the capacity of your Studio’s SSD? I’m betting that it isn’t base model. You must have 1tb or more on board — right?

I am just wondering why this really matters? I just bought the M2 Max but only had 2100.00$ and decided to get a 1 TB SSD instead of the extra Memory. I got the 32 gigs of Ram but most likely will not usually have my projects on my internal SSD bc after all my apps and plugins are installed, I might have a little over 600 gigs left if I do not keep anything else on my computer and that will be tight space on even a single project if I am lucky, SO more than likely I will be working off external SSD's anyhow. SO why does it actually matter unless you have at least a 2-4 TB SSD internally?
Can you explain why this really matters? I imagine you would want these speeds if you are editing and your project is actually on your internal SSD. right? Otherwise what is it actually helpful for over just the 512 SSD. Those speeds are just read and write to the internal. Which if you get the 512 base SSD, after installing all your programs and whatever, you won't even have room for a project if you are shooting Braw, 4K, 6K or 8K. I think my 1 TB SSD will even be almost impossible to use but I could not afford more than upgrading that or the Ram.
