Faker's $500 Skin Is F@*king Ridiculous

Faker’s new hall of fame skin bundles were revealed this week. There’s 3 tiers which include increasingly fancy Ahri skins and their animations look great. The only issue is – to get the highest tier skin, it’s gonna cost around $500 US Dollars.

People have accused Riot of money grabbing, of tarnishing the new Hall of Legends already, and even of exploiting Faker for their own gain. Let’s get into it.

I actually feel really bad for Faker.

These last couple of years he and his family received a huge amount of threats from the public for performances at worlds. More recently his team has been struggling to even be able to compete due to DDOS attacks. Now there's this really cool project he was a part of for this hall of fame deal and it's immediately tarnished because of Riot's greed.

Can we please, just once, have something nice that isn't tainted by these fucking suits?

They want us to pay $200 for a signature, but they doesn't even care to put it in a recall. All proplayer's skins since 2017 all have it but this $500 skin doesn't even have.

Using Fakers name on this money grab is the most disrespectful thing Riot could have ever done to the player who is arguably partially responsible for there eSport being as popular as it is.

Faker who has proven that he is not greedy at all as he could have named his price to play anywhere he wanted and turned down the money to stay on T1.

This just taints the whole Hall of Legends which should be done to honor the players honestly I feel these skins should be free if it is actually a celebration of the player.

The irony in all of this is a signature skin for the one Pro-Player that is FAMOUS for **NOT** using skins at all! al then jack up the price from a 4 digit number RP skin to a 5 digit one, its insane! I was very hyped about this HoL skin and the celebration around the infamous unkillable demon this is not a celebration. This is a tarnation of the reputation of faker, and completely disrespectful to both players and fans of faker. Ban Ahri Every Signle Game. G fucking G Riot.

I don't always agree with TB Skyen's points, but he absolutely nailed it with this one: DO NOT validate this kind of business practice with your money. Because what Riot is doing is testing the waters, to see how far they can push players' boundaries -- either so that they can release an _even more_ expensive skin later down the road, or so that they can lower the price of this to something like $250 (still outrageous for a skin) so that they can smugly say "We've listened to the feedback".

$50 base skin, $250 you get more animation and a shutdown counter, $500 you get 100 levels of BP and electronic signature hahaha! tower kill animation and some other things hahaha XD it's just hilarious and they said it is a one time thing too so when it is gone it is bye forever

There is truly nothing sacred, I bet the only reason Faker himself hasn't spoken out against the price is contractual. If he knew, that's kinda sad, but somethin tells me he wasn't given a full scope of the rollout
