Yeah, it's the same here in Germany. Far left and far right suddenly agreeing, pushing to end weapon supplies to Ukraine. Completely ignoring the fact that Putin started the war and commit any atrocity to achieve his ludicrous ideas of a grand Russian empire.
No one would like to see peace more than the Ukrainians, I think. But not helping Ukraine would simply be "unterlassene Hilfeleistung", which is akin to a duty to rescue. So when the far left and the far right are in agreement... something's very wrong!

Saying to an attacker "OK OK, we're going to give you whatever you want, just please stop attacking us" isn't how you can end a war, you're essentially telling the attacker "hey, if you just keep going, you can have everything there is, it's yours for the taking" and you end up with an endless cycle of war, until there is only the attacker left and you don't even exist anymore.

I work in Germany and it’s very similar here: the woman from the far left and a boomer feminist journalist have joined forces and issued a “manifest for peace” (!) which basically means abandoning every single value these persons have ever stood for in the past, from human rights to self-determination, from protecting democratic values to standing up against tyranny.
And perhaps the worst of all is that people in Ukraine are not even asked what they think, apparently people like MT Greene from the US or Wagenknecht from Germany think they should decide for others what is good for them, without even listening what Ukrainians want.
