Just like the commercial maritime industry, it should be absolutely compulsory to have the required training and qualifications to operate leisure and recreational boats. I am a commercial yachtmaster and a 25yr navy veteran, and I have seen my fair share of shit fuckery out on the water. I can only shake my head in disbelief looking at the stupidity of some of these people.

@10:00. What's the problem? That sailboat wasn't going to "flip" over. That yacht has thousand of pounds of ballast in the keel. They were maybe at 45* at most. It's incredibly difficult for a sailboat like that to capsize, unlike say a beach catamaran (e.g., Hobie or a Nacra) which rely on the dual hulls and ballast of the crew to keep it upright. (Which makes for the most 'fun' sailing experience imho) Monohull sailing and cruising cats are fun in a leisurely way -- racing sailboats and small cats are fun in a 'flying on the edge' sort of way.
