I knew that that was the point behind the melody being shared. By "I will never unhear this, " I meant that I just discovered the melody intentionally being similar and will never be able to unhear it in the future.

As someone who has been a fan of FNAF since before FNAF 2 was even announced, and someone who has listened to both this TLT song and the game audio literally hundreds of times each, I am shocked that I never once made this connection. I guess the differences in instrumentation and style just disguised this for 9 years. Actually wild.

I always wondered if the lead in to this was a music box, as the "Fnaf song" from TLT opened with the Toreador March. I always brushed it off as not sounding like the puppet's music box and never gave it much more thought. I feel so stupid because I never even considered the end game theme, only the Grandfather's Clock music box.
