I always wondered how machines could crack pecans so perfectly. I still did not see it in this video.

I love pecans but I live in Tennessee and they're outrageously expensive. When I lived in Georgia, we had three pecan trees in our yard and we just picked them wherever we wanted. I miss those days.

Narrator : The Pecan's are dried for 24 hours to remove moisture as a high moisture content will spoil them.

Also Narrator : The next day, they soak the Pecan's in several water bath's to increase the moisture content.

Me : What ?

Pecan was an staple for food when your homeless and have no money. And there was a man in Virginia that had a tree overflowing and was glad someone to take and clean them up. Because he worked so much and for some poor it was an income. Now you can sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour. But THANK GOD for growing them in its season 🙏 be fruitful and multiple

I do wish there were at least a diagram of how the "two pistons" actually crack the shell. Obviously, having fine control of how close those pistons come together is critical to cracking only the shell and not the nut. That's what I was hoping to understand.

I love pecans! Always snacking on them while i was in Mississippi! Love its earthy, nutty flavor. A fresh departure from wall nut. But both are delicious in its own right.
