Like I tried watching this video 5 times and I always fall asleep cause at some point I get confused but following in my textbook while watching kept me awake and now I have finally watched the entire video. The fact that I have actually done the experiments already brought back some prior knowledge that I couldn't explain, now everything makes sense. I still can't believe I went through and understand this in the space of 2hrs. Exams are like 3 weeks away and by this rate this channel will get me ready by then. Thank you.

I don't know if its just me, but I find a level organic chemistry SOOO much more fun and interesting than GCSE org chem. Thanks for the video!

18:33 So you can say "The R group of an alcohol is non-polar, which results in the R group being hydrophobic, and as hydrophobic (forces?) have more of an affect than hydrophilic (forces?), the alcohol is therefore not soluble in water"

I am currently in year 12 and wanted you to know that these videos are so helpful thank you for all the effort you put into these videos and I appreciate you explaining every small detail to help further our understanding. I will be watching more of your videos from now on through out year 12 and even in year 13! Thank you once again

39:13 is the mechanism for elimination required for year 1 ocr a chem ? We didn’t learn this when we went over alkenes and alcohol

Sir, for the hydroxy example (5:57) would it be necessary to add the 2? since Aldehydes are always on position 1. Because I wrote: (2)-hydroxyethanal and then changed it to Hydroxyethanal because I believed it was unnecessary. Thanks!

This was a great video, do you also have a video on esters and carboxylic acids as well?

Sir, I can't thank you enough for your videos, you make sense what was impossible to understand! Do you think you can make explanation videos about carbonyl, carboxylic acid, esters, nitriles and some of other families in the organic chemistry?

5:49 Why is the position number for hydroxy 2? Isn't it on the first carbon atom?

I think you forgot to cover the eliminations part of the video, may you please make a separate video on that please? 🙂
