ACT Science is one of the hardest sections for many of my students who prepare for the ACT test. ACT science doesn't require you to know any specific science, but it does require you to understand the scientific process and the critical difference between dependent and independent variables. ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

In this video, you will learn how to read ACT science graphs and charts and how to tell the story of the ACT science passage without really reading the paragraph.

👉Independent variables are those variables that are being manipulated. You will often see them along the x-axis or occasionally in the legend. If you have a table, you will see your independent variables on the left of the table.

👉Dependent variable is the result that's being measured in the experiment. It will show up along the y-axis and on the right in the table.

👉A control group is a trial sample left untouched.

I hope these ACT science tips and act science strategies have helped you guys!

The greatest thing about ACT is the science section is what she's talking about is drilled into a lot of peoples minds all throughout school. If you are paying attention in science throughout school (even if you didn't take/like chem and physics) you will know this stuff. You will know what "purpose" is from english and you'll know from math what dependend and independent variables are, as well as from basic middleschool science and probability biology too. Besides that, you dont need to study science. You need to know how to think scientifically. You probability already know how to do this from either doing well in math classes (how do you go about solving a complex word problem? Its similar but easier for science) and if youre good at english rather than math you will already know this (how do you analyze passages to answer questions and get the information you need? How do you find the authors purpose?)

All of this is the same as solving scientific questions on the ACT. Read the passage and analyze it. The answer is in the text, you just need to translate it. That'll be a direct translation or a tranalation into a graph or table, which is easy to do you learned this in elementary math and on.

Dont sweat it ;p

What is the minimum score that you recommend for applying to top schools (top 20) in US? (ACT/SAT?)
