That last uppercut and hook were pure technique. The snap he had on those punches were incredible. Ali didn’t even look like he put any power into them and they still looked like they were gonna take Quarry’s head off. His jabs were insane too. Shit Ali was an amazing fighter…..

I liked the narration and music. I've never seen this fight before. Quarry was clearly a great fighter. Ali was just something else. Thank you for this video.

I was 15 when Ali was allowed to fight again after being stripped of his title and not allowed to fight for 3 years for refusing to go and fight in the Vietnam war. I was an Ali boxing fanatic. And I wept when he lost in his first Frazier fight in March 1971. I was devastated. I was in shock when he lost in the first Norton fight. But there was great joy and celebration when he fought Foreman and through much experience he went through, he won with a knockout and got his title back. There will never be another boxer like

The "secret weapon" of Ali was his extraordinary reach, a definite advantage he had over his competition in virtually every confrontation he encountered in the ring

I remember seeing a picture taken of Quarry after the fight in the paper the next day.

His head looked like it had been used for batting practise. That ref did him a huge favour.

It must have driven Dundee crazy when Ali would play with his opponent in the corner. Ali knew Quarry was beaten and didn't want to do any more damage at the end.

Jerry Quarry was a great fighter and, as pointed out, he was unlucky enough to compete in an era of great heavyweights. Be assured that anyone who fought him, including Ali, knew they were in a fight

Ali …. Always the greatest !! He is an artist and he made quarry look like a little boy but still respected him as a fighter … that’s why Ali is greatest- an artist and a profound human being…
