Major News! UTA becomes a Major in 2025

We've got some news to share, Major news!

It's official - in 2025, HOKA Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB will become the UTMB World Series Major for Oceania!

That means the world's second-largest Ultra-Trail will join other iconic races from Europe, the Americas and Asia as the Major races in their region, offering a range of awesome benefits for you, our runners, including:

- Double running stones for entry into the UTMB Mont-Blanc Lottery
- 210 Age group qualifying entries to the UTMB World Series Finals
- A live broadcast of elite races
- An elite prize money pool of $120K AUD
- We welcome HOKA as the title partner of the event

But that’s not all, as part of our Major status, we’re also bringing a 100 Miler to the Blue Mountains!

100 awe-inspiring, stunning and challenging miles of running, including 60km of brand new trails never before run on at UTA – we’re fairly sure the UTAMiler will quickly jump to the top of your trail running bucket list. 

With only 400 UTAMiler entries on offer and a chance to be part of the inaugural event, we expect them to go fast. A limited allocation of priority entries for UTMB Index holders go on sale at 11am AEDT on Wednesday 20 November. The remaining general entries go on sale at 11am AEDT on Friday 22 November.

Whether you’re running the brand new UTAMiler, already part of the action in one of the other races, coming along to watch in person or tuning in to the live broadcast – UTA 2025 – it’s going to be Major!
