So incredibly sad to hear today his lovely soul has departed this mortal coil. Had the opportunity to see him a few times ‘back in the day’ with and without Screaming Trees, and played his music constantly when on the air at KFJC 89.7FM in Los Altos Hills, CA. His voice and lyrics will forever haunt me, in a good way. Rest In Power, Mark Lanegan. Love to his wife, Shelley Brien, his family, and all who will miss him. ❤️😢

This always comforted me from when I got it in probably 94 or 95, the part " you can't kill whats already dead, but I don't blame you for trying it", because one time my mom told me I was "dead dead dead" because I didn't rat my brother out for sneaking out. Its water under the bridge now, so thank you Mark. You helped me forgive her.

I cant believe you left us here. but i understand. thankyou for saving me from the insistant tug of suicide in my 20's. From the gag reel of disasterous relationship attempts..the boom and bust cycles that make up a mans life..the son turns into the father..and a little late understsands the conditioning needed for this funhouse asylum rain dance endurance event. The rust begins to grow on your joints and even one day between the thoughts in our heads. Thankyou for being a musical father to so many of us...too many didbt know you..but i will tell them where they came from. Soaked with grief..but happy for your release from this place that at times threatened to break your back. But YOU made it! You helped ME make it. And you left us the fruits of your labor..you wet wool emerald colossus..your voice has been and always will be a flashlight in the nighttime bedroom of towering pines..

In the only music store where I live, they've removed all Screaming Trees and Mark's albums. The last thing I bought of his was Bubblegum and I was going to start buying everything since. So I can listen to them in my vehicle and man cave/party room (garage).
