"When I Was Lost" is a song I first encountered in 2004, and it obviously left quite the impression. It's one of the clearest explorations of salvation, new life, and identity in Christ ever put to music! This virtual choir version was brought to life by 156 singers and ASL interpreters from 35 countries. They had only 7 days to learn, record, and upload their performance (and I had less than 2 weeks to edit everything together). This is the second of three smaller ("pop-up") projects to finish off 2020. Instrumental accompaniment provided by me - just a simple arrangement representing how I might lead this song with a congregation.

This song has beautiful lyrics. Most modern worship songs are missing the fact that we are sinners and should be lost. It is only the grace of God that rescues us. Many modern worship songs are just singing of grace and love while ignoring sin. Thank you for this beautiful song!

Oh, David! This turned out so perfect! The song is gorgeous, and having us all dressed in linen white like saints is touching. I enjoyed the inclusion of instruments at the bottom, the ASL signers and soloists. Thank you for doing this. It was my first virtual choir, and I'm so pleased! 💕
