Ever wondered why William Afton became, well... the way he is? What his original motivations were for killing children before he discovered remnant? Do you think the psycho enjoyed it or ONLY did it for immortality? I think I figured it out!

Hope you enjoy!!

Real reason: William ate too much tacos the tacos hit his brain making him have dementia

*The worst reason people have is that it was just for kicks and giggles. With such a complex story, I doubt that it's that simple lol. I don't know why the fandom is so against William having depth instead of being an evil-to-be-evil character.*

*They may think this way because they don't believe William cared for his kids enough to take revenge. Fun fact yall, that doesn't matter. There is a killer named the Iceman who described how he killed his best friend for simply threatening to hurt his family. Did the killer love his family? No. He was a narcissist who was extremely abusive towards them. It's a RESPECT thing. Henry disrespect William by inadvertently causing his child's death. He hurt somebody that William believed was only his to hurt- injuring his status and pride.*

Well. Judging from the Novel Trilogy, Afton killed Charlie out of anger and jealousy for Henry. Then he discovered the supernatural and decided to experiment with it, which led to the MCI and DCI. Then he discovered Remnant and decided to experiment with that with the Funtimes. At some point, he grows a great fear for death and an iron will to live, leading him to try to find a way to use the Remnant and supernatural to be immortal. Even if it means becoming an animatronic.

Edit: Afton's goals in general are just to have a family that obeys him and not be confronted for any of his misdeeds in both life and death at all cost. Even if it means making his own family with animatronics and becoming one himself as well as suffering and living forever.

I love how the simple “that back fired” hit me so hard lmao

Love fnaf lore. You can kill a bunch of kids, stuff them into the suits and nobody will even try to investigate smelly, weird acting animatronics. You can even kill a child outside of the restaurant and you will go scott free!

I was going to point out the "I will put you back together" detail. I think you're correct. I always thought it's stupid and boring that Afton is just the typical psycho "I want to be Immortal" bad guy. This is Scott we're talking about, his writing is not that dull. I always believed that Afton had a deeper motive, a motive that has something to do with his dead child . Yes, I strongly believe that Afton killing spree was the result of his grief for his child. I understand that rage and grief affect our behaviours and I get that he start killing because of his sorrow, but I didn't understand why did he never stop? Like, did he enjoy killing? But saying that he blames Henry and killing his daughter made sense because, yes, Henry was the one who created the first animatronics, and backing up the experimentation motive with his desire to bring his dead child make even more sense, so.... Yeah, I guess you're right

The book trilogy supports that William wanted to know something, especially with a note book that’s found, it’s starts normal, then goes to angry scribbles.

In the puppet carver, the main character is meant to be a Henry standin, revealing that he can bring wooden dolls to life without any mechanical parts being involved. While some people can pass that off as just boring, William must have caught wind to Henry’s ability.

That’s why he wanted to partner up with Henry. Fazbear Ents. Introduction is: Welcome tk Freddy Fazbears Pizza, a magical place for kids and grownups alike. Where fantasy and fun come to life. William was keen to “bring things to life”, thats why he wanted to learn hHenry’s secret to grow his business, but there was a problem. Henry did it because he enjoyed it, where as William did it for his business. William didn’t have the childlike imagination like Henry did.

William grew frustrated to learn Henry’s secret, and it caused him to snap, resulting in him murdering Charlie. He didn’t do it because he’s evil, he did it out of spite.

I do believe that William didn’t start evil, he was just consumed with what he wanted, instead of appreciating that he already had everything. In the end, he got what he deserved, and he’s paying for it

I fully agree wih this theory, I'm also glad someone is actually acknowledging how springlock suits really work and not trying to ram the misinformation into our heads

I was gonna comment this "i think William killed Henry's daughter because it was one of Henry's animatronics that killed the crying child due to its design flaw and he wanted Henry to feel what it's like to lose a child" until i watched the video until the end to not seem stupid 🤣🤣

I was waiting for someone to mention that the bite wasn’t a springlock failure! I noticed this myself some time ago. It was already in suit mode so the springs were already… well locked.

Finally, someone saying what I’ve been thinking for years at this point.

BV first is now a pretty popular theory among people. "I will put you back together" only really makes sense as a promise of William as Sister Location very much proves he knew of the phrase.
FNAF then is a story about a man who was such a control freak that he couldn't accept that tragedies happen and became a monster trying to be always in control.

This theory video was really good, well done! The meme edits were great too xD

Even if William wasn't speaking to the CC through the Fredbear Plush, he could have programmed it to say those things to him (maybe it was a robot that could move around and report things to Afton? That could be why it has a radio in SL).

Also, I agree with this theory. As others have said it makes sense for him to be jealous of and vengeful towards Henry; I always thought this was why he murdered Charlie tbh.

Yo, this makes so much sense!
And I’ve always believed, or at the very least headcanoned, that Charlie’s death was in a fit of rage and not for the lolz or experiments .
Him blaming Henry for the death of his child and killing Charlie as revenge sounds very in character to me.

This is also why I believe that the Crying Child died before Elizabeth. Because if Liz really did die first, than that would mean that William created killer robots for literally no reason. Why would he want immortality out of nowhere? How would he even know about remnant?
He had to have seen it happen before. He had to have a bigger motivation than just immortality.

So seeing Charlie (and maybe even CC as well) attach to the animatronics they were bonded to through death would encourage William to try and replicate and eventually automate the process through the Funtimes.

You didn’t debunk how crying child’s tears could even trigger the springlocks, you just said no one is inside to trigger it

But cc head is inside where whoever is inside the head (like whoever wears the suit) breaths to much or water hits the springlocks it will activate
