Barry Norman, the perpetual square. Those that can do, do, the remainder become critics. Of course Norman had family in the industry which gave him access to stars and directors, when backed by the BBC. Norman is now forgotten, his TV profile got him into voicing adverts for a dodgy mortgage company. No Oscars in Norman's family cabinet. He makes my skin crawl. He did manage to persuade his daughter Samantha to do a documentary on him. Who else would? There were 2, 301 views when I wrote this comment. Says it all really.
