This makes Morro look younger than the show managed to. We're told Morro died young, but in the show, you can't really see it due to the dark greens and constant darkness. You managed to showcase his youth without taking away the darkness so we can see the duality of his character. A kid who went down a dark path and was consumed by it. I can't help but think of how Morro is simultaneously the same as Lloyd while also being his opposite. Both unleashed evil on the world due to ignorance, and both fought to fix what they'd done. Both know what it's like to be homeless. Both were taken in by Master Wu. But Lloyd never wanted to be a ninja period, let alone the green ninja. He made his mistakes because there was no one who cared enough to stop him, whereas Morro abandoned his mentor in anger only to make a mistake that got him killed, desperate to become the green ninja. Morro was allowed and encouraged to play as a child, choosing to train instead, but Lloyd was forced to put training first and literally miss his whole childhood in order to be the green ninja, even when he wanted to play or have fun. It's hard to tell which one had it worse, and yet swapping their roles still wouldn't mend their problems or make them happier. Neither of them would get what they wanted.

The fact that at 2:18 it showed Morro holding the sword, seeing his death is such a creative and wonderful idea! I mean that in the least creepy way possible, and I’m not going to act like this animation didn’t make me cry. 30 seconds in I was already in tears- I feel like I can relate to Morro’s character a ton.

Me and all of my friends always say Morro was the best villain in Ninjago. He was complete character arc with a compelling and reasonable story. People relate to him. 😭😭

I cried when I watched this- I feel so sorry for Morro, he suffered so much and died so young. He was never given a second chance and deserved better. His story is so unique compared to any other villain story in ninjago I’ve seen- he went through betrayal by the protagonist’s *mentor* but died so young and came back only to find he was replaced and that no one knew of him or who he was. I wish Morro could have had a better life and actually have a childhood. He’s a brilliant character too— being an elemental master himself, and taking over La-Lloyd to altogether fulfill his dreams. This is why I don’t actually like Wu, Wu set him up so that in the end it wasn’t the same with Kai’s sadness for not being the green ninja, but instead it was him having spent most of his life training and working hard for it to turn out to have been nothing. I feel this was a set up aswell, as the green ninja has the combined elements of ice, fire, lightning, and earth. Not wind.

2:46-2:54 this scene is so amazing. The imagery and Morro’s facial expression tell so much in such a short amount of time. You can see the cursed realm flash over top of Styx. Showing how Morro has a unpolished his goal of bringing the same pain and misery he suffered to the real of Ninjago. And he smiles at this, finally others will share in his pain. But it serves a double meaning. As Morro’s smile disappears he realizes that he’s right back where he started. He’s still a slave of the cursed realm, a prisoner to his horrors. Unleashing the preeminent on the world didn’t make his situation any better, it just made things worse for everyone else. He’s just as unhappy now as he ever was. And for just a moment, he realizes how meaningless his whole mission was. He was hurting and he wanted to make everyone else hurt too, but that didn’t make him happy.

When I tell you, the facial expressions? On point, the ability to show the youth, BEAUTIFUL. The art style is amazing and the colors are chefs kiss. I can’t begin to explain how much I love this. Like idk why but I FEEL something when watching 🥹🥹

It's just sad that given Morro's backstory he died with everyone (Except Wu) remembering him as a villain

I saw this on Tumblr and I came here again so I could come into the comment section and cry. Seeing Morro’s backstory when I was like, 13 years old had an effect on me as a kid. Seeing it again from this perspective really just adds to the gut-punch feeling.
