Buy this Transmission Pan Gasket not the Cheap One✅

When you buy a new transmission filter or new transmission pan, it comes with a cheap thin rubber gasket. Those gaskets are prone to failure because the pan is warped and destroys the gasket. Buy this this steel core gasket from Moroso to solve this issue.

The gasket that came on the trans from the factory has been reused on my 94 F150 several times over 25 years. Still there. No leaks.

You know what a better Ford tip is only use the Ford OEM transmission gasket because they have a metal plate and an extra ring where they bolt down ... The only reason you're having to put this aftermarket one on now is because somebody who's always bought the cheapest stuff they can think of went down to the parts store and that's the gasket they gave them you can reuse a transmission gasket on a Ford after 20 years it's not going to leak

Thats easily fixable but also very preventable by not torquing down the bolts soo much and do them by hand. A really good leak prevention is using a thin layer of grey gasket sealant/maker after both, the trans and pan are clean, dry from any fluid/dirt/grease. Let sit and tack up @ 10-15 mins then install pan BY HAND!!! with a socket & ratchet or a speed wrench and socket.
Generally a deep 7/16 to a 1/2 in socket and a small ball peen hammer with ball end held towards the pan bolt hole with the socket on the other side of same bolt hole but making sure that you are evenly lined up squared with the hole, you hold the ball peen hammer with one hand and another hammer with the other as you lightly hit the flat end of the ball peen hammer end till you've flattened back as it should be/as it originally came when new. I will go ever soo slightly more and then I add a standard washer to the bolt so that it helps protect the hole. You can also use a c-clamp with a piece of flat steel stock to achieve the same outcome. I've also used ball bearings before in multiple sizes that I've saved throughout the years for shaping countless parts that I've had to restore & reuse. I hope this helps whomever reads this as it comes from 30+yrs of full experience. God bless!

If u take a socket slightly bigger than the bolt hole dia on the pan. Put the pan on a flat surface and socket over the hole and mildly tap it flat with a hammer

Yes...Moroso gasket is the best....as well as Moroso pan. Please never use rtv on the Moroso gasket. Moroso gasket doesn't always work well with the cheap stamped steel pans, though...because they always warp...and so leaks can happen between bolt holes. There is good reason why I went all out and bought the Moroso pan....which is a tremendous improvement over the oem pan for the e4od or similar.

I know the E4OD Has a reusable gasket, and you can still buy them in stores like autozone

if your transmission pan has raised bolt holes, use a cork gasket, do not use the elastic ones that come with a new transmission filter.

I put Hylomar on oil gaskets.
Guaranteed no leaks even with cheap gaskets.

Absolute best thing to use is an aluminum pan and a felpro gasket

@maniacal s10
Spread the torque by using old school chevy valve cover tie downs .

I always hammer the pan flat then the OE gasket works

If you torque the hell out of its bounty to leak lol

That’s because someone over torqued the pan bolts. Max is like 7-8 ft lbs Max. It’s not a suspension part that needs to be torqued to 75 ft lbs 😂

Your best option is to not over torque them like this guy did
