For those who keep complaining abt the lyrics: this song is a reminder for children of God, esp young generation.

As somebody in early 20s, I can relate to the song. "Tell me why society's plans should define who I am" I can really feel that cz I'm currently in a situation where people around me or even through media tells us young people (esp girls) to do things based on the standards and try to control us,
but the thing is "surely there's a higher way"
Can u imagine living in an environment whose people like to compare the level of success? Thats just toxic! You r forced to race against time, life is just like a competition in a bad way, not for God but clearly it's just for pride. Parents are worrired when their chilrden havent married before 30 or even 26, esp if u are a girl. They are worried about what people are gonna say abt the family. In some cases, if you have mental illness, only less than five closest friends will understand you. Some parents don't even want to hear that cz it's bad for family reputation.
You r the one to blame if your life looks ruined, meaning you dont meet people's expectations and standards. And there are so many things confusing us. They forget that life is not about us, but God and His plans and timing in ourlives.

And the sad part is, a lot of young people I know are going through this.
One was told to give up pursuing higher education cs she is 25 already and it's time for her to get married.
some ended up pleasing others by being someone else and regreted it. Bcs obviously at such a young age we need some time to think about who we are and seek God to learn His plans and everything, not to end up being controlled by other humans for the sake of worldly pride.

I just want to listen to God, be just like the wind that goes where He sends it. Many people dont really want to know God's way of thinking. they ignore it bcs it makes no sense and doesnt meet the standards made by humans.

This song, for me, is a reminder to only listen to God and stick to what He said no matter how impossible it seems like.

I hope u get what I'm trying to say, and sorry for my bad english.
