Women's basketball Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie visited Portland to share her experience with students at an all-girls Catholic high school. Leslie was the keynote speaker for St Mary’s Academy Food for Thought campaign. She wants to inspire the female students to be strong leaders.

"I remember what it was like to be in high school and sort of having that unknown about what you're going to do next, and how you do that," she said.

On July 30, 2002, Leslie became the first WNBA player to dunk a basketball.

"It was a great moment. And a moment that has lasted for a long time," Leslie added.

It made history and she wants the women at St Mary's Academy to make history too.

Sofia Bell, the center for the St. Mary's basketball team, was inspired by Leslie.

"Just how much success she's had," Bell said. "After her playing career, [she] has just continued to excel."

All girls high school? Doesn’t sound very inclusive.
