Butane leak involving railcar in Canton: Officials say 'no immediate threat to the area'

HAZMAT and fire teams have responded to a situation in Canton early Thursday morning involving a "leak in a railcar at the Wheeling Lake Erie railyard" off Gambrinus Avenue SW.

"The leaking railcar contains approximately 150,425 pounds of butane," according to details from the Canton Fire Department. "The railcar is isolated in the yard and poses no immediate threat to the area."
