If you're just jumping into Diablo 4 as a new player, hopefully this 2024 beginners guide gives you everything you need to know. There are lots of things changing in the next season, such as how crafting and aspects are handled, so I only wanted to go over this in small detail and will create a full guide once the new system is released.

If you're jumping into Diablo 4 I'm happy to answer questions in the comments

Some tips from experinced player for new players. Not sure if it was mentioned in the video I might've missed it if it was. Make sure to prioritize completing all renown rewards in your first playthrough as you complete the main story. These rewards are permanent for ALL characters across ALL realms and future seasons. That means every time a new season starts or you create a new character no matter which realm, you'll essentially start over with a boosted character. You get 10 skill points, 20 paragon points, 5 extra potions charges and a extra 480 Obols maximum charge at Lvl 1 for each new season/character plus all the Altar of Lilith buffs. This makes it WAYYY easier and less grindy to level/get to end game for every new season/character. It's something I missed the during 1st season and wish I knew sooner. Here are some tips for getting fast rewards on 1st playthrough:

1. Collect all Altar of Lilith's: This gives you a permanant buff to ALL your characters from each alter. This will also give you "Discover Area" renown and "Unlock a Waypoint" renown as they are all over the map. So you have the potential to get a total of 35 renown at once instead of 10. Use a guide to help find them all.

2. Complete side missions: While side missions give you 10 less renown points vs dungeons (30 vs 40), you can complete multiple at the same time it takes to do 1 dungeon especially early game. For example: On multiple occasions, I managed to do 4 side missions in the time it normally took me to do 1 dungeon. That's 120 renown vs 40 renown in the same amount of time. Also some side missions require you to do a dungeon so you get 70 renown for that 1 side mission. On top of that, they tend to give you a good amount of materials for crafting as well as Obols.

3. When completing dungeons, prioritize dungeons with aspects for your current character 1st over others.

4. Once you hit around lvl 30, try clearing ALL the strongholds around the map. They reward you with good loot early on and more important, each one gives you 100 renown points upon completion. Some will give you an extra 20 points on top of that becuase they will sometimes unlock a hidden waypoint as well.

Hope this helps.

I started playing on Friday. It’s Monday now, and I’m a level 35 pyro sorcerer. Started out in world tier 2 (never played any Diablo before though) and have exclusively used fire skills. It’s been a blast and I absolutely melt bosses

Thanks for the very clear information for this newbie to 4 (I own and have played the other 3). The whole Season thing is new to me (starting a new character every 3 months is very different), so my next stop is to build guides (the Lightning Werewolf sounds like my style).

I just started playing a week ago through game pass and I’m addicted! I played through the tutorial on all 5 characters before I ended up choosing the necromancer. 10/10 for fun and power.

I am trying Diablo for the first time and since D4 is on Gamepass I figured I had nothing to lose. My first play session was with a buddy who has played a lot of Diablo over the years. But this video really opened my eyes to what is available and has me really excited to play more. Thanks for this video!! I will be checking out more.
I picked Sorcerer to start as I tend to play magic users when that is an option. My buddy was playing a Druid and the two seem to work well together.
