You may feel safe, but it is never a good idea to tell strangers you don’t use all of your door locks. ☮️

When I lived in a paper-thin wall apartment (or just noisy), I bought some cheap duvets/quilts at a thrift shop and hung them on my walls- it's instant insulation and sound squelcher. you can hang pictures and do whatever you normally do and the colors are like having an instant paint job without all the mess.

I love that YouTube randomly recommended me this video even though I have no intention on moving to Japan. The apartment is amazing

That little patio space can be use as a little garden area. You could put another stool out there with a small shelf and add some flower pots or small veg pots, just an idea. Love the apartment

Your acknowledgement of what is atypical in your apartment as compared to others and the gratitude you show for that advantage is admirable. Saw the semi-full-size fridge and went Whoa!
Thank you so much for sharing your apartment with us. It was a lot of fun.

Thank you for sharing! My mom taught at American Air Force bases in Japan back in the 60’s & very early 70’s. Japan was her favorite place she traveled - and she traveled extensively. She passed away suddenly 4 years ago but I can just imagine her smiling with me watching you give a tour of your apartment with all its gadgets and neat additions we don’t see in America. Thank you so much ☺️ Be blessed! (Oh, I’m also the wife of 28 year LEO Captain - safety is *always* paramount - especially as a woman - so *please* use all safety locks, bars, etc at your disposal 💜)

People complaining about the size are forgetting that the price of this apartment is $400. You’re not getting a large house with a yard in any major city in a developed country for $400.

Great apartment! Much bigger than many in Japan.
i giggled when you talked about the floor being cold. I live in NS, Canada.
In winter I always wear thick socks and warm slippers because unless you have in floor heating or carpet, its a given your floors will be cold. It's June 15th today and im wearing socks with house slides same as you:)

I don’t know if you use natural air to help cool your home in high temps, but that the doors slide both ways means that you can have them open on either end to allow for in/out air flow. It will flow more effectively than having one door all the way open.

In terms of space savings, Americans can learn a lot from Japanese apartment design. Thank you for the cool tour! 😊

Comparatively, this place is bigger than the usual! I like the colour scheme too (tan tone). I definitely prefer doors separating spaces too.

I'm visiting Osaka in 2 weeks. I am just super impressed how Japan maximizes the amount of living space (for the most part). Like with helpful small gadgets and separating the toilet from the shower. In America they will rent you less than 300 square feet studio apartments will full size ovens, 4 burners and everything.

Very cute apartment, and it's great that it's so functional. It reminds me of my first apartment when I lived in San Francisco years ago. Hope you have a great time in Japan!

Im very proud of Japan, that it allowed young people to have their own small, but cheap apartments, affordable for studenrs, or just anyone, who wants to start independent life. ❤❤❤❤

I love your apartment. It shows how creative the Japanese are in optimizing space. I love the wash/shower room and yes separate toilet area is wonderful. Thank you for showing us your beautiful apartment.

I love that your living space is properly utilised and that you actually own many things which we usual viewers have at home; there are many Youtube small apartment tour videos having too few items (maybe for the pinterest minimalist aesthetic purpose) which isn't practical in my opinion. Great video by the way.

Your apartment is homely and cosy. I like the layout of it as well also having them double doors make it less claustrophobic when the weather is nice and having them open.

Well that was super interesting! The algorithm suggested this video, and I admit I probably otherwise would have never seen it. I also admit that now that I’m in my 50’s and entrenched in a certain way of living that I’d find getting accustomed to this very difficult. But you appear young and adventurous, so good onya! You may not use your balcony, but what wonderful natural light it brings to your space. These will be fantastic memories for when you’re older~
