Thank you so much for the guide. He kicked my ass for many hours. I made minor changes to my build and didn't realize the importance of some of the specific things in your build. For instance, I used the same shield as you did but I made mine a Sacred barricade shield instead of a heavy barricade shield which didn't help as much as I thought it would. As soon as I changed to heavy, I beat him.

I did it in the same way but with even a better solution. Before you enter, equip rotten breath, then summon your mimic. Your mimic will start hitting him with just rotten breath and his life will go down fast while you just sit there with your shield
Up. It takes like two to three breathes. Then in the second phase you can repeat the same, when he goes to hug you, the long animation will mean that his life keeps going down from the rot build up

Finally beat the final boss. I tried with back hand blade for 45+ tries I believe, I could consistently get it to second phase but I just couldn’t beat him so I had to resort to this build and got
Him in under 10 tries. I could’ve gotten him earlier but I died to miquella’s grab twice which was annoying.
