This was my first ever stream, so it's a bit rough around the edges, recorded on the 16th September 2016.

AquaStax is a classic 2D puzzle game, think Tetris meets Lemmings. It has blocks dropping down, water rising up and cute 'Gumblers' wandering around needing to be rescued.

AquaStax was originally a game for old school (non smart) mobile phones, like the Sony Ericsson K750. I coded it in Java, using the J2ME toolset in around 2005.

In this first video, there's not a lot of code, but things of slight interest happen at the following time codes:

00:12:00 - I install Cocos2d-JS
00:14:30 - I run the 'cocos' command
00:15:20 - I attempt to create a new project
00:16:38 - A new skeleton project is created
00:17:54 - I run this project
00:26:40 - I talk about AquaStax
00:28:24 - I show some of the original Java source code
00:40:50 - I show some of the old level script files
00:42:00 - I go over the Gumbler sprite animations
00:46:00 - I show some of the original background graphics
00:56:30 - I create a new SlickEdit project
01:04:50 - I use SmartGit to commit code
01:09:20 - I actually add a bit of new code
01:11:36 - The video cuts out, a bit earlier than the live stream!

All I did at the end (after the cutoff) was to thank people for watching, and mention that in part 2, I will attempt to get some more of the game startup sequence (splash screen to main menu) coded.
