The equation lines up every 1/k for any integer k with k also being the maximum number of loops used to construct the resulting shape :)

Please keep making Desmos videos! As far as I’m aware you make the best Desmos content on YouTube and I find your videos very interesting. I too experiment a lot with Desmos so it’s great fun messing about with what you’ve made and combining it with other experiments I have previously done. :)

My rotating gadget don't work. Tried it with a Tusi hypotrochoidal arrangement, its straightline was not the magic benefit imagined. Desmos animation showed why but (my maths long forgotten) your art indicates an alternative way forward. A single repeat static position sinusoid R perimeter traced out by r2 might just do the trick. What're the magic equation settings? Jessie please.
