Jarabi by Mafu Conteh - Kora music from The Gambia

Kora players traditionally come from jali families, who have passed down their skills and historical knowledge of the Mandinka people through the generations. Mafu is the grandson of the great kora player Alhaji Bai Konte.

Mafu lives and teaches at the family compound in Brikama. International students are warmly welcomed - for more info check out the Konteh Kunda School of music website or Facebook page:
