This was one of those videos that I could sit back and watch for several hours! The bird's Eye view from loco was so cool. Very good quality and editing. Bummer it wasn't taped in 4K. The 5.1 in title is misleading, 'cause if it were in real 5.1 the analog listener would get an ear full of loud hissing. I know it was stated that audio was down mixed. Anyway, good job! Ya, the iron horse probably won't be making a permanent appearance till we run out of oil. They were very hard on the tracks.

I recall vividly, back about 1956, being in the small village of Ramsay, Ontario (my grandfather was station master) and seeing these great CN steam engines roll by.

My brother emigrated to Canada (Ontario) in 1979 and I went to have a holiday a couple of years later. I woke up in the middle of a cowboy movie with the train whistle blowing across town.
I told him in the morning and he said it would be the grain coming into the can have a look.
I couldn't believe the LENGTH of the trains or the size of these locos and how the tracks ran in the street without gates or fences. I was used to a smallish tank engine, 4-6-2 and nine pretty small coaches, but these were something else!!! At least I can say that I've seen these beauties live and in steam👍👍

Imagine driving that train in the middle of a snowy night while listening to heavy metal, that would be like paradise

At 73, I remember the tail end of steam locos back in the 50's. My father took me to a local rail yard where steam locos were the switching power. I was able to see the inside of a steam loco cab and the engineer took me for a short ride; I was about 8 years old and it was the best day of my young life! Thanks for the steam loco cab ride memory video!

Old 1225 may not be the Polar Express 1223, but she is doing a pretty good job standing in! Like watching a Christmas postcard in motion!
